Alameda International delivers a challenging, international education in which we act to create a better and more peaceful world through inquiry, intercultural understanding, and respect.

Our art department engages our students with a variety of media, experiences, and points of view to foster balanced and passionate visual thinkers.  Our program strives to build creativity and critical thinking skills as well as offer career and post-secondary opportunities in the field of Art & Design through CTE and IB.

IB EDUCATION

The teaching structure at Alameda International follows the International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes for all age levels: Middle Years Programme (Grades 7-10), Diploma Programme (Grades 11-12), and Career-related Programme (Grades 11-12).

The IB structure of learning allows students to:

  • think critically and challenge assumptions

  • think on a global context

  • develop multiple languages

  • ask challenging questions

  • develop research skills

These qualities allow young artists to develop their voice, learn about the world, and challenge the status quo in order to create a new vision for the future.

COLORADO CTE

Colorado CTE delivers proven pathways to lifelong career success.  CTE ensures a thriving Colorado economy by providing relevant and rigorous education that is connected, responsive, and real.

The CTE Visual Arts program at Alameda International creates curricula focused on the future.  We align our teaching to create a vertically aligned pathway that allows students to gain in-demand skills aligned to industry standards in multiple high wage fields.  We also partner with industry leaders to advise our program, guest lecture, job shadow, and offer our students internships and apprenticeships.

CTE requires specific training and credential requirements and we are proud to have our entire visual arts department faculty certified CTE instructors.
